Orkney 13 Year Old Single Cask

This Orkney single malt was drawn from a first-fill sherry cask and bottled up for the Mey Selections range at 51% ABV. If you’re a fan of Orkney, as I am, this sounds like a delicious, single cask expression! Only 200 bottles were produced!

I was browsing the fine whisky range last time I visited Loch Fyne Oysters, and this bottle caught my eye. I hadn’t heard of the bottlers before and I was curious as to why Prince Charles’ name was emblazoned on the label. Back at Luxury & Rare HQ, I was doing some research whilst typing this up, and it was in 2005 that Prince Charles launched Mey Selections to foster closer connections between farmers, fine food producers and customers, all helping to maintain a balanced way of life in the Highlands of Scotland!

The bottlers, Goldfinch Whisky Merchants, have been in the industry for over 25 years, and their aim is to produce distinctive, intriguing and exclusive expressions!
