Lindores Abbey Single Malt Scotch Whisky MCDXCIV (1494)

After a break of 523 years, spirit is once again flowing from the copper stills at Lindores Abbey. With Lindores Abbey’s widely recognised links to the earliest written reference to Scotch Whisky and learning as much as we can from the great Scottish distiller’s around us, past and present, they are bringing a very modern whisky-making approach to this ancient site.

The first whisky from Lindores Abbey Distillery, matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry and wine barriques, has now been made available for purchase by the public – a mere 527 years after distillation was first recorded at the abbey in 1494!!
