Picked up by myself at the new Johnnie Walker experience in Edinburgh just this weekend, these four, 1 litre, limited edition collection of whiskies caught my eye straight away! I booked myself onto the Whisky Makers Cellar experience, tasting these single malt whiskies straight from the cask in the small, underground warehouse in the heart of Edinburgh. My host, Becky, then created me the perfect, rich & spicy blend, using one of Greg’s (one of the master blenders at Johnnie Walker) very own recipe!

The story of Johnnie Walker begins, funnily enough, with the man who gave the whisky his name. In 1820, the young farmer’s son, John Walker, started his own grocer’s shop in the thriving town of Kilmarnock. In those days, most grocers stocked a line of single malts, but they were never consistent and not good enough for John. So, he started blending them together to create a whisky that tasted just as good every time…

Little did he know that he had started creating now the World’s most popular Scotch whisky in history, a household name whether you’re into whisky or not and was a true pioneer of his time.
