A Damn Good Dram XXV – Triple Winner – Going LIVE TONIGHT!

We recently took delivery of this brand new, limited release from Glen Scotia. We were excited about this bottle as soon as we received the email announcing it! After reading that it was 10 years old, cask strength, and finished off in a Bordeaux red wine cask, we felt extremely confident that this had Damn Good Dram potential.

Now, everyone who is familiar with our Damn Good Dram competition will know this is a dram we have tried and tested at Luxury & Rare HQ and are willing to put out stamp on it! So, we just simply had to order an extra bottle for research purposes and not only were we correct, but Glen Scotia were absolutely spot on when they said to expect a spicy dram with lots of red berry flavours. If anyone is a fan of Quality Streets Strawberry delight chocolate then you are going to absolutely love this. I can still taste that flavour on my palate a day later.

Glen Scotia Limited Edition 10 Year Old

Using a series of exclusively unpeated distillation from 2009 – 2011, this 2021 release for The Campbeltown Malts festival, was matured in first fill bourbon barrels ensuring a spirit that truly reflects the Glen Scotia Distillery character.

These casks have been vatted together before finishing in first fill Bordeaux red wine casks, from the Medoc region, for a period of 5 months under the watchful eye of the Master Blender. Once the perfect balance is achieved between the red fruits from the wine casks and the classic fruit, spice and maritime notes of the Glen Scotia spirit was reached, the spirit was then married into refill bourbon barrels before bottling at cask strength, 56.1% ABV.
