Here we have the iconic, Double Cask 18 Year Old from probably the world’s most recognised scotch whisky distillery. Now, we have never tried this double oak expresion here at Luxury & Rare Whisky HQ, but The Macallan says that the American oak imparts delicate flavours of vanilla, citrus and butterscotch. European oak delivers the unmistakable subtle spice of The Macallan. Sounds pretty tasty to us.

The Macallan Double Cask 18 Years Old, a perfectly balanced single malt whisky matured for 18 years in both American and European sherry seasoned oak casks. Sherry seasoned American oak adds delicate vanilla to the subtle spice of European oak, delivering a whisky with a sweeter, warmer taste and character.
