Glen Scotia 18 Year Old + Glen Scotia Limited Edition 10 Year Old

Glen Scotia 18 Year old started its maturation in refill bourbon casks or refill American oak hogshead before the Malt Master, Iain McAlister hand selected the finest ones and vatted them together for a 12 month finish in first-fill oloroso casks. The oloroso finish complements the perfumed, floral flavours without taking away the distillery character of fruit with hints of sea spray and spice. For us this is an exceptional dram from Glen Scotia, delivering the true character of a Campbeltown malt whisky.

Glen Scotia 10 Year Old Limited Edition – Using a series of exclusively unpeated distillation from 2009 – 2011, this 2021 release for The Campbeltown Malts festival, was matured in first fill bourbon barrels ensuring a spirit that truly reflects the Glen Scotia Distillery character.

These casks have been vatted together before finishing in first fill Bordeaux red wine casks, from the Medoc region, for a period of 5 months under the watchful eye of the Master Blender. Once the perfect balance is achieved between the red fruits from the wine casks and the classic fruit, spice and maritime notes of the Glen Scotia spirit was reached, the spirit was then married into refill bourbon barrels before bottling at cask strength, 56.1% ABV.
