Just when you thought that Bunnahabhain’s Fèis Ìle 2022 releases couldn’t get any better they go and drop a 33 year old SINGLE CASK!?!?
As a surprise as well! I went down to the distillery to pick it up at 10am yesterday and eerily, there was no queue!! They actually managed to keep it under wraps (which doesn’t usually happen on Islay..). I only found out about it the night before it’s release…
One of ONLY 286 bottles this is definitely not one to miss from Bunnahabhain. Distilled on the 15th of December, 1989, and filled into whisky refill casks, this whisky has been slowly maturing in their coastal warehouses for over 30 years and the transferred to casks that once held premium Oloroso sherry on the 25th of May, 2016 to mature for a further 6 years.
