The year is 1997, Bunnahabhain now has a road leading to it’s doors, the last ship has docked at the famous pier, and the first of peated Bunnahabhain spirit is flowing through the stills at the tranquil Islay distillery in over 35 years…

Distilled on 5th September, 1997, and then laid to rest in their warehouses overlooking the Sound of Islay for 22 years, this PX finished, peated single malt whisky, was then bottled at natural cask strength of 50%. This 1997 release is now quite rare, as Bunnahabhain then didn’t distil peated spirit again until 2003…

I was lucky enough to taste this whisky at the distillery, peat, PX sherry and Bunnahabhain, what more could you ask for!?
